LOA=10'-6" Beam=4'-1" Depth Amidships=1'-7"
Wt=165 lbs (deduct 45 lbs for rowing version)
Sunhine's lofting is for the 10'-6" version, matching her building plans. Yes, both the plans and the lofting are required. Her plans provide you with construction details and sail plan, while the lofting provides the full size stations (from which the moulds are made) and full size backbone details–plus, of course, information needed to get out the transom, drawn full size. No doubt about it, having the lofting already completed is a great time saver.
And if you instead plan to build Sunshine to 12' overall? The offsets don't change. The only change of significance is the station spacing. Dividing 12' by 10'-6" provides you with a coefficient of 1.14. Multiply the distances between the stations by that to derive the station spacing needed for your 12' boat. It's no more complicated than that. The moulds and backbone members remain unchanged. We've also added the full sized outlines of the rudder and daggerboard which will save you drawing 3" squares and laying them out yourself. Oh yes...the lofting is a black line print, which means that you don't have to worry about it fading out in the sunlight.
This is the very first one we built, back in our shop for refinishing 25 years after launching.
