These plank patterns are for our 15' canoe. Yes, they have been tested in the shop–Megantic was built using them (see photo above). The concern with using plank patterns is that your setup be according to plan. Comparatively speaking, there is less shape to canoe planks, than say for the Rhodes Wherry, but they are still shaped–wider amidships than at the ends, and curved downward below the turn of the bilge and turned upward from there to the sheer–so setup is not quite as critical. But you are still best advised to align your moulds accurately. That way, these patterns can save you considerable time, while helping you save on costly planking material because it makes nesting the planks on sheet marine plywood easy. They are also especially useful when you are getting planks out of live edge stock. The patterns are printed on a wide format printer and are on a single sheet of paper measuring 3' wide and about 17' long. Shipped rolled.
