Boatbuiding Books

Duck Trap Press is the publishing component of Duck Trap Woodworking–the boatshop on the Maine Coast where Walter Simmons has been designing and building wherries and double-enders since 1970. Our function is to make certain that none of these titles go out of print because the manner of building traditional lapstrake boats has not changed just because the materials we use may evolve over time–hence the reason you will find even our earliest books in use in boat schools here and abroad.

There are twenty titles in all including one on carving decoys, because you too might want something worthwhile to do with the high quality scrap woods left over from building your boat. That said, here in the order in which they were written, is the list of titles, each a link to a page devoted to that particular book.
