Gray-backed Terns are very similar anatomically to Sooty Terns but are about 10% smaller. These working decoys are carved from White Pine, have varying head positions, and are finished with weather-resistant low luster acrylic paints. The photo below is a flock of 50 that we recently completed. Most headed for the South Pacific where they will be keeping company with our Sooty Tern decoys on Wake Island.
That said, these are every bit as at home in a collector's home or office.
