We've offered lap clamp handles for years, but recently the prices of the ready made ones have climbed so that we decided to seek viable alternatives. As you can see from the photo these are black plastic, but don't construe that to mean that they aren't suitable for lap clamps. We've been testing them in our shop for over a year now, and haven't experienced any problems. In fact, in close quarters, these are handier than the lever-type clamp handles. In any case, these have threaded metal inserts, and they are large enough to afford you a really good grip, even while wearing gloves. In short, they are admirably suited to our lap clamps, and for less than half the price of what you'd have to pay for their chrome plated counterparts. Oh yes, and they are also just the ticket to use as tensioning knobs on the kickup rudders we use on the Alli8, the Rhodes Wherry, and on the Christmas Wherry.
