Product Description
The Newfoundland Trap Skiff is our largest wherry. This CD follows construction from setting up the moulds all the way through rigging the sprit/ketch rig and selecting a boat trailer. That's a lot of territory to cover, but it is thorough. The planking chapter alone runs more than 40 pages.
This is Osprey, 18' overall, and the second Newfoundland Trap Skiff to emerge from our shop at Ducktrap. On her first voyage she sailed from her homeport of Sag Harbor on Long Island Sound, NY all the way to Islesboro, 3 miles offshore from Lincolnville, on Penobscot Bay in the Gulf of Maine. She's ketch rigged and decked, as you can see, and has compartments fore and aft. That's her captain, the late Kennett Love, preparing to leave Lincolnville Beach.
