Once in a great while you can come up with a pattern you like the very first time, but frankly, chances are not in your favor. We’ve been there. We developed our patterns over the years and offer them so that you can get started right away rather than having to go through the process of developing your own. Decoys made from these patterns work, in the field and in competition. They are printed on 24# blueline paper.
We developed this pattern for Audubon's seabird restoration project on Seal Island in the Gulf of Maine. They are simply done, and smooth overall with painted details, because that is all that's needed for this application. Still, they have been popular with visitors to our gallery for many years. Better than that, they were instrumental in getting Atlantic Puffins to repopulate Seal Island. The guy in the photo has been finished with an antiqued look.
