Like the printer version, this details the construction of two double enders: the plank keeled glued lapstrake boat and the cedar planked double ender, Freedom–Walt Simmons' own double ender (at least for a while...)
Matinicus Double Ender Dimensions:
LOA=16'-0" Beam=4'-8" Depth Amidships=1'-7"
Wt=225 lbs (mahogany planked/sailing)
(deduct 45 lbs for rowing version)
Glued Lap with 9mm planking is about the same weight.
If I had to pick one boat to use in all conditions, the Matinicus Double Ender would be my first choice. That's pronounced ma-TIN-e-cuss, by the way.
